 We had an unexpected visit from the parents of my friend Mike Ruesch. His parents have been on an around the world cruise on the MS Amsterdam via Holland America Line. They had some problems docking at Casablanca so they went on to Gibraltar. But once there, they had problems docking so they continued on to.....The Azores! Originally they were to pass us by. So we met the Rueschs at the Sao Bras Fort (near the marina) and took them to Favorita for lunch. After that, we went back to our place to show them around. Finally, we took them back to the cruise line bus pickup so they could get back on their trip. It was only a day stop but we enjoyed their visit immensely.
